Launching the strategic partnership between the Egyptian Franchise International Company

The Enterprise Development Agency cooperates with Franchise International Saudi Arabia to enhance the future of Arab franchising.

Basil Rahmi: We will participate in the Egyptian-Saudi International Franchise Exhibition in early 2026 to support Egyptian brands in reaching Arab and global markets.

Statement issued by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency:

In implementation of the directives of the political leadership to work to support the small and medium enterprises sector and help them open foreign markets to ensure their development, increase their production and effective participation in the national economy.

The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) is collaborating with the Egyptian Franchise International Foundation, a Saudi national franchise institution, to support and empower Egyptian and Saudi brands, accelerate franchise operations, and develop local brands to prepare them for expansion into regional and global markets.

Basil Rahmy, CEO of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), stated that this cooperation comes within the framework of preparations for the Egyptian-Saudi International Franchise Exhibition, which is considered the largest event of its kind in the Arab world. More than 300 brands from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and a number of other countries are expected to participate, with a wide presence of Egyptian and Saudi government agencies and investment bodies.

Rahmy pointed out that this initiative, in collaboration with Franchise International, aims to launch practical programs to accelerate franchise operations in Egypt and develop local brands to meet international competitive standards. It also aims to launch the new edition of the Arab Franchise Award, which will honor innovation and excellence in the franchise sector across the region.

For her part, Ms. Abeer Abdullah Jaleeh, Chairwoman of Franchise International and organizer of the exhibition, expressed her happiness with this cooperation with the Project Development Agency, one of the most important Arab institutions concerned with developing and supporting the small and medium enterprises sector. She emphasized that it represents a new and qualitative stage in the path of supporting the Arab commercial franchise sector and enhancing the presence of Saudi and Egyptian brands in the Egyptian and Saudi markets, based on the institution’s extensive experience in organizing specialized international forums.

She also thanked the Saudi Embassy in Cairo, represented by the Saudi Commercial Attaché, for its support and tireless efforts to enable Saudi institutions and companies to enter the Egyptian market and cooperate with major Egyptian institutions to support various development and economic trends.

Mr. Basil Rahmy emphasized the importance of this cooperation with Franchise International, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), on the importance of supporting Egyptian brands, especially those associated with entrepreneurs, and helping them to continue and expand. He pointed out that this initiative will contribute to the development of the franchise sector and support entrepreneurs in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the great support that will be provided during the exhibition with the aim of developing the franchise sector in Egypt and supporting entrepreneurship.

Both parties affirm that this event will serve as a strategic platform for enhancing Arab cooperation in the franchise sector, building strong economic bridges between Arab entrepreneurs, and providing them with investment opportunities in Arab and global markets, serving sustainable development and supporting regional business growth.

Dr. Raafat Abbas, General Supervisor of Development Sectors at the Agency, stated that one of the current strategic axes of the Agency's work is developing the franchise activity in Egypt by improving the business environment and developing the regulatory and legislative framework for this activity, in addition to supporting franchisees and franchisees. This focus is on encouraging the export of Egyptian brands by raising the quality and competitiveness of their products and services, capitalizing on the rise of national brands capable of expanding locally and internationally. In this context, the Agency has begun implementing a plan to cooperate with approximately 70 brands operating in various food and service sectors.
